We only collect information you actively give us. Here's what that includes and why we need it:

• Email address — When you subscribe to our newsletter. We use this to send you content updates, strategy guides, and occasional information about webinars or coaching. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email we send.
• Story submissions — When you submit to the Confessional Wall. We collect the content of your story, your selected industry and situation type. We do not collect your name, email, or any identifying information unless you voluntarily include it in your story (please don't). Submissions are fully anonymized before publishing.
• Coaching inquiries — When you reach out about 1:1 coaching, we collect your name and email to respond and schedule sessions. This information is used only to provide the service you requested.
• Payment information — For webinars and paid coaching sessions. Payments are processed by Stripe or Square. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers. Those are handled entirely by our payment processors under their own security standards.

We use the information we collect to:

• Send the newsletter you signed up for
• Respond to coaching inquiries and deliver coaching services
• Process payments for webinars and coaching sessions
• Anonymize and potentially publish story submissions to the Confessional Wall
• Improve the site and understand how people use it

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share your email with third parties for their marketing purposes.

We take the anonymity of story submissions seriously. Before any story is published on the site:

• All names (yours, your boss's, your company's, colleagues') are removed or changed
• Identifying details such as specific job titles, locations, or timeframes are generalized
• We review each submission manually before publishing
• We reserve the right to edit, paraphrase, or decline to publish any submission

If you include personal information in your submission that you later want removed, email us at hello@steerclearstrategies.com and we'll take care of it promptly.

Our site may use basic analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site -- things like which pages are most visited and how long people stay. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

We use only the cookies necessary to operate the site. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels for third-party ad networks.

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the site:

• Email platform (such as Mailchimp or ConvertKit) — to send newsletters. Your email is stored on their platform under their privacy policy.
• Stripe / Square — for payment processing. Subject to their respective privacy policies and PCI compliance standards.
• Web hosting — our hosting provider stores the website files and may log basic server data.

We choose service providers who take privacy seriously and do not permit them to use your data for their own marketing purposes.

• Unsubscribe from our email list at any time using the link in any email
• Request that we delete your email address from our list
• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Request removal of a published story (even anonymized) if you submitted it

SteerClear Strategies is intended for adults in professional settings. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

If we make meaningful changes to this privacy policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, if the changes are significant, notify our email subscribers. Continuing to use the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
